Governors at Fountain

Meet our governors...

Ellen Doherty

Ellen has lived in Morley for over 10 years, having moved from the North-East to teach in Bradford almost 20 years ago. She has a daughter at Fountain Primary and wanted to do what she could to support the school as a parent governor, so was delighted to be given the opportunity to join the governing body in January 2022. She took on the role of Chair in 2024.
Ellen has taught at secondary level for the past 18 years and is currently Acting Headteacher of a large secondary school in Bradford. Ellen's experience within education will allow her to bring a different perspective to the governing body and support the Headteacher and staff to drive the school forward.

Claire Roberts

Claire is a mum of two, Chloe and Edward, who are both pupils at Fountain.  She joined the governing body as a parent governor at the beginning of 2018. She always wanted to be a part of her children's school life and the wider school community. Claire is passionate about making sure all children have access to a good education and that they feel happy and included in their school life. Being a parent governor enables her to ensure that happens for all of the children at Fountain.

Claire lives and runs her own business in Morley providing her with good links with the wider community and the flexibility to support school. She says, ‘I am incredibly proud of everything the school has achieved over the last few years and look forward to being a part of Fountain continuing to go from strength to strength in the future.

Tom Hemingway

Tom has worked at Fountain Primary School since 2017 as a teacher and phase leader. He currently teaches in year 3 and leads Lower Key Stage 2. He is the maths leader in school and has overseen its development in the last five years, improving outcomes in the subject for all our children. He says, ‘I am passionate about providing our children with the best possible education so that each individual reaches their true potential’.
